Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Matt Cooper (ranked 3939 p4p, 24876 weight class) and Daniel Cormier (ranked 130 p4p, 222 weight class). Cormier is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Face the Pain. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Matt Cooper!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Daniel Cormier!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Albert Achterberg and Aafke Stam.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cormier lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Cooper circles away quickly and effectively.
Cooper rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Cormier moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Cormier has a takedown stuffed.
Cormier gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Cormier with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Cooper to score with a decent uppercut.
Cooper cracks a nice hook into Cormier's ribs.
Cooper smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Cormier throws a lazy right hand but Cooper sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
A counter left hand to the body from Cooper misses its target.
Cormier fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Nice sprawl there from Cooper as Cormier shoots in.
A little feinted left hand from Cooper on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Matt Cooper has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Daniel Cormier.
Cormier shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Cooper connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Cooper feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Cormiers jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Cooper throws a series of strikes that have Cormier backpedaling.
It looks like Daniel Cormier has been cut.
Cooper has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

and Cooper cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Cooper lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Cooper's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Cooper duly obliges.

It looked like Cooper wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

No joy there for Cooper, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Cooper clinches up with Cormier and pushes him back against the cage.
Cooper lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
That has opened up Daniel Cormier's cut even more.

Cormier is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Cooper gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Cooper scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
The cut above Daniel Cormier's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Cormier needs to keep his hands up - Cooper had a free shot at his head there.
Cormier manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Cooper on his heels. He'll look to pass Cooper's guard now, I'm sure.
Cooper pushes Cormier off and scrambles back to his feet.
Cormier takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
The crowd cheers as Cooper lands an impressive looking overhand right. Cormier doesn't seem phased though.

Cooper lands a slapping body shot.
Cormier moves forwards but Cooper connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Daniel Cormier's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

Cooper effectively controlling the action here.

Cormier is looking for a takedown.
Cormier drops down looking for an ankle pick but Cooper pulls his leg out and moves away.
Cooper uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Cormier has time to react.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Cormier takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Daniel Cormier's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
