Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jan Zajac (ranked 3722 p4p, 4486 weight class) and Fyodor Emilshenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fyodor Emilshenko will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jan Zajac!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Fyodor Emilshenko!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Roosa Järviläinen and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Emilshenko tries to clinch up.
It looked like Zajac was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Emilshenko.
Zajac could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Emilshenko throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Zajac is looking to counter punch.
Horrible takedown attempt by Emilshenko or perhaps it was just good defense by Zajac, which made it look bad.
Zajac moves out of range of the body kick.
It looked like Zajac wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Emilshenko throws a sloppy head kick

and Zajac decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Emilshenko's guard.
Emilshenko is looking to stand back up but Zajac counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Emilshenko.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Emilshenko really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Zajac. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Zajac is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Zajac seems to be working for a kimura but Emilshenko defends the submission attempt.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Emilshenko is looking to control Zajac's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Emilshenko avoid being mounted?

Zajac is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Zajac is working for a kimura but Emilshenko is defending it quite comfortably.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Zajac is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Emilshenko sees it coming and defends easily.

Zajac is trying for a kimura here. Emilshenko looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Zajac wins by kimura!
