Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Paul Herrera (ranked 6980 p4p, 6591 weight class) and Pedro Penduko (ranked 625 p4p, 604 weight class). The key to victory for Paul Herrera has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Paul Herrera! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Pedro Penduko! The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Ben Watson and Steve Erwin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Herrera tries to clinch but Penduko moves out of range. Penduko unleashes a big counter combination but Herrera bobs and weaves and avoids any damage. Penduko closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Penduko is nestled in close to Herrera, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Penduko takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Herrera taking some punishment here, with Penduko in his half guard. Herrera on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Penduko seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Herrera is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Penduko's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Penduko's back! Herrera throwing lazy shots from the back mount that aren't doing any damage. Herrera has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Penduko has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Herrera's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.
That's one minute gone in the round. Herrera looking for the choke from the back. Herrera patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here? Penduko trying to control the position but Herrera manages to sink in the hooks. Penduko wants to get back to his feet. Herrera working for the choke. Herrera missing with punches from the back. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Herrera has the hooks in. Penduko is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted. Herrera is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Penduko knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Penduko for a finish. Penduko trying to control the hands but Herrera won't let him. Will Herrera go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?
That's three minutes gone in the round. I would not like to be Penduko right now.
Herrera tries to get the hooks in deep but Penduko pushed the leg off. Penduko tries to break free.
Penduko is keeping busy.
Herrera is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
Herrera goes for a risky armbar from back mount and it's not paid off. Penduko escapes and is now in half guard on top. Herrera is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Hyperbolic Time Chamber, so we'll see if he gets out of it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Penduko looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Herrera is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Penduko scores with a couple of nice shots. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Herrera has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Penduko is working away from the top position though. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Paul Herrera dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Penduko circles away from the clinch attempt and Penduko counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Herrera has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Penduko off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds. Herrera throws a nice looking combination but Penduko bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Herrera moves into range and clinches up with Penduko. Penduko tries to pull guard but Herrera forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Herrera jumps guard and drags Penduko to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Penduko won't allow Herrera to sweep him here. We've been informed that Penduko has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight. Penduko not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Herrera controls Penduko momentarily but Penduko frees himself. Penduko missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Herrera is trying to keep Penduko in close.
That's one minute gone in the round. Penduko wants to control from the top but Herrera keeps moving. Herrera has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Penduko should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Herrera has tightened it up now! Penduko should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:29 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Paul Herrera! An out of breath Paul Herrera thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
