Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Devon Miles (ranked 5206 p4p, 4755 weight class) and Mike Fightson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fightson fails with an attempt to clinch.
Miles misses with a hook.
Nice sprawl there from Miles as Fightson shoots in.
Miles avoids a punch combination nicely.
As Fightson looks to move away, Miles throws a big counter combo but Fightson just gets out of the way.
Nice uppercut there from Miles.
Miles slaps away a takedown attempt from Fightson, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Fightson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Miles tries to avoid it but Fightson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Miles to the ground. Miles escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Devon Miles has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mike Fightson.
Fightson uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Miles.

Fightson tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Miles manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Miles throws a hook but Fightson blocks it.
Fightson drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

Fightson shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Miles is trying to defend but Fightson finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Fightson is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Miles's shoulder. That is not cool.
Miles on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Miles tries to get out of the position.

Fightson has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Miles misses with a wild body shot.
Miles throws a good cross that connects.
Miles lands a jab to the head.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Miles is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.

Fightson takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Fightson tries to score a power double leg takedown but Miles sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Fightson somewhat.
Miles is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.

Miles moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Miles fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Fightson takes one on the chin but seems OK.

Devon Miles is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Miles is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Fightson doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Miles counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Fightson looks winded!
Miles throws a jab when Fightson was well out of range.
Fightson with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Miles to score with a decent uppercut.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Fightson takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Miles fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Fightson looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Miles is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Miles closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Fightson! Miles dives in looking to finish! Fightson is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!
