Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mr Mojo Risin (ranked 1353 p4p, 2683 weight class) and Curtis Rome (ranked 174 p4p, 303 weight class). Risin comes to the cage accompanied by L.A. Woman. Curtis Rome told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mr Mojo Risin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 7 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Curtis Rome! The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Steven Brown and James Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Risin pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Rome tries for a takedown but Risin sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Rome moves out of range of the body kick. Rome shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Risin pinned against the cage. Risin gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Rome slips a jab from Risin. Risin paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Risin throws a body shot but no joy. Risin misses with a straight right. Rome swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Risin scores with a hook to the body. Rome takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Rome blocks a leg kick. Rome fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Risin avoids it really well and circles away. Mr Mojo Risin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Curtis Rome. Risin ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Rome moves away. Rome is clearly looking to counter with head kicks.
That's one minute gone in the round. Risin lands a lovely overhand right. Rome slips under a jab from Risin. Rome shoots in for a takedown but Risin shows good takedown defense. Rome fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Risin looks to score with a jab to the body but Rome is just out of range. Rome throws a fast counter high kick but Risin manages to duck under it in time. Risin throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body. Risin smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Rome tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Risin swivels and escapes. Mr Mojo Risin is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Rome tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Risin cracks Rome with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Risin scores with a crisp jab that stopped Rome in his tracks. Risin swings and misses with a shot to the body and Rome counters with a big head kick but Risin shrugs it off. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Risin buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rome uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Risin. Rome connects with a high kick. Rome moves out of range of the body kick. Rome takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Rome scores with a jab to the jaw. Risin tests Rome's chin there with a solid looking shot. That kick from Risin tenderised Rome's leg. Rome is trying to keep his angry face on. Risin lands with a cross. Risin misses with a body shot.
Risin is really peppering his opponent's head with punches. Risin throws a push kick but Rome slaps the foot to one side. Risin tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Rome was well out of range. Poor timing from Risin. Rome throws out a counter right but Risin avoids it with no problem. We've been told by Risin's head coaches at Brooklyn Mixed Martial Arts that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Risin slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Rome throws a sloppy head kick and Risin moves out of range easily. Risin throws a hook to the side of Rome's head but Rome sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Risin throws a quick inside leg kick. Risin uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Rome has time to react. Risin tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Rome was well out of range. Poor timing from Risin. Risin lands a really nice looking cross but Rome seems unphased.
Rome fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. A slapping leg kick lands for Risin.
Rome dives in and grabs Risin's left leg, looking for a takedown. Risin pushes down on Rome's head and hops out. Rome tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Risin swivels and escapes. Risin lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Rome at a distance.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Risin dips down and scores with a jab to the body. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Rome misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Risin throwing a counter right hand but Rome manages to avoid it. Rome looks winded! Rome with a poor takedown and Risin counters with a lovely straight right hand! Rome doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Risin lands with a thumping leg kick.
Rome on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Risin throws a nice inside leg kick. Risin throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Rome stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. A chopping leg kick lands by Risin. Risin with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Risin thows a body kick. Rome tries to catch it but that hurt him. Rome fails miserably with a takedown attempt. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Mr Mojo Risin dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Risin lands a lovely overhand right. Risin scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Risin throws out a powerful jab. Risin throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Rome throws out a counter right but Risin avoids it with no problem. Risin cracks Rome with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Risin has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Rome to stand back up!
Rome is rocked! Risin is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Rome bobbing and weaving nicely... He's ducked under a jab and ducks again but ooooooh! Risin comes at him with an uppercut from hell! Rome falls to the canvas, unconscious! This one is all over! Oh man, looking at the replay that was right on the button! Rome was out before he hit the floor!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:31 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Mr Mojo Risin! Jumping up and down and very excited, Mr Mojo Risin waved his t-shirt featuring Brooklyn Apothecary's logo in front of the cameras.
