Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Samuel Summers (ranked 1546 p4p, 2215 weight class) and Anthony Borrego (ranked 206 p4p, 292 weight class). Borrego has chosen Bloodlust til Dusk by - MORBID ANGEL as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Anthony Borrego has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Borrego swings away with a body shot that misses
and Summers counters with a stiff right hand.
Borrego looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Summers scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.

It looks like Anthony Borrego has been cut.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Summers enables Borrego to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Summers manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Borrego has gone for a leg lock! Summers slips out almost immediately though and dives into Borrego's guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Summers is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Borrego not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Borrego escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Summers gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Summers has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Borrego is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Borrego bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Summers's guard.

Borrego is pushing down on Summers's leg trying to pass to half guard. Summers is fighting to maintain full guard but Borrego has managed to sneak the leg through.
Borrego is trying to control. Summers wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Borrego isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Summers stacks Borrego on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Summers!
