Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Samuel Summers (ranked 1546 p4p, 2215 weight class) and Anthony Borrego (ranked 206 p4p, 292 weight class). Borrego has chosen Bloodlust til Dusk by - MORBID ANGEL as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Anthony Borrego has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Samuel Summers! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Anthony Borrego! The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Jorge Garcia and Alyssa Summers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Borrego swings away with a body shot that misses
and Summers counters with a stiff right hand. Borrego looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Summers scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
It looks like Anthony Borrego has been cut. A momentary lapse in concentration from Summers enables Borrego to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Summers manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Borrego has gone for a leg lock! Summers slips out almost immediately though and dives into Borrego's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Summers is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Borrego not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Borrego escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Summers gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Summers has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Borrego is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
That's one minute gone in the round. Borrego can't keep his opponent in guard - Summers advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Borrego makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Borrego. Summers is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Borrego is looking for a triangle but Summers pushes his legs off easily.
Borrego had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Summers defends it easily. Summers's corner is telling him to maintain position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Borrego bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Summers's guard. Borrego is pushing down on Summers's leg trying to pass to half guard. Summers is fighting to maintain full guard but Borrego has managed to sneak the leg through. Borrego is trying to control. Summers wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Summers is pressing down on Borrego's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Summers keeping full guard, as Borrego tries to pass. Borrego is still trying to improve position. Borrego keeps trying to improve his position. Borrego is looking to pass into half guard but Summers pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Summers is in guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Summers content to stall in guard here. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Borrego isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Summers stacks Borrego on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Summers! Summers working away. Summers advances to mount. Summers has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage. Borrego is looking to improve his position but Summers isn't that keen on the idea.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Borrego regains half guard. Borrego is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Summers content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Borrego wants to get back to full guard. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Borrego is trying to maintain the position but Summers is very close to passing his half guard. Borrego is working on a guillotine. He's managed to get to full guard and he's really squeezing tight! Summers is tapping! Great win for Borrego!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Anthony Borrego! A relieved looking Anthony Borrego thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
