Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Infection No Purpose (ranked 5620 p4p, 23784 weight class) and Max Zeraq (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Max Zeraq will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zeraq tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but No Purpose paws at him with a jab and circles away.
No Purpose ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

enabling Zeraq to counter with a crisp jab.
Zeraq tries to clinch up but No Purpose circles away and keeps his distance.
A left and a right from Zeraq both land. Nice combination.

No Purpose changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Zeraq tries to avoid it but No Purpose manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Zeraq to the ground. Zeraq escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

No Purpose ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. No Purpose no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
No Purpose has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
No Purpose manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Zeraq manages to get himself to full guard.

Zeraq really doesn't want to stay on the ground with No Purpose. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with No Purpose in particular looking to stall.

No Purpose seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Zeraq for as long as he can get away with.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

No Purpose is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Zeraq is defending well though. No Purpose let's go of the attempt for now.
No Purpose just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.

No Purpose is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
No Purpose fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Zeraq wants to counter the offense by No Purpose and move into the clinch position.

Zeraq shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. No Purpose manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

No Purpose escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Zeraq gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

No Purpose bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Zeraq 's guard.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for No Purpose, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
