Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Inacio Azevedo (ranked 991 p4p, 1863 weight class) and Lazerus Limbtwister (ranked 146 p4p, 264 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Azevedo might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to They Don’t Care About Us . Limbtwister has chosen Break Shit by - LIMP BIZKIT as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Inacio Azevedo!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Lazerus Limbtwister!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Azevedo shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Limbtwister sprawls well. Limbtwister wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Azevedo gets slowly back to his feet.
Inacio Azevedo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Azevedo shoots for a double leg takedown but Limbtwister sprawls well. He's pushed Azevedo's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
And Limbtwister tries to counter it with a takedown but Azevedo pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Azevedo shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Limbtwister's guard.

Limbtwister had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Azevedo defends it easily.

Our spies down at at PRETTY PETERS FIGHT CLUB inform us that Limbtwister has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?

Azevedo drops back, looking for a kneebar! Limbtwister looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Limbtwister looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Limbtwister!

Limbtwister tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Limbtwister has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Azevedo seems a little lost for a moment, as Limbtwister dominates the positioning.
Azevedo pushes Limbtwister away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Limbtwister gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Limbtwister is persistently looking for the submission but Azevedo is defending it well.

Limbtwister tries to get the hooks in deep but Azevedo pushed the leg off.

Azevedo is trying to get back to his feet. He's worked up on to his knees and now he's on his feet with his head on the canvas, trying to shake Limbtwister off. It looks like it's working - Limbtwister slides off, much to his dismay, and we're back to standing! Azevedo displaying calm under pressure there.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Inacio Azevedo. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Limbtwister fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Azevedo to the ground. Limbtwister is now in Azevedo's guard.
Limbtwister seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Limbtwister is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Azevedo wants to stand and escape but Limbtwister is having none of it.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Azevedo shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Limbtwister is trying to control but can't.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Lazerus Limbtwister dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Limbtwister throws a hook to the side of Azevedo's head but Azevedo sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Limbtwister feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

The referee warns Azevedo that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Limbtwister has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Azevedo is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.

Limbtwister's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Azevedo wants to try and get back to his feet.

Azevedo has left one of his arms exposed and Limbtwister doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Azevedo screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
