Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between John Cooper (ranked 4502 p4p, 4526 weight class) and Peter Stillman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, John Cooper! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Peter Stillman! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Percy O'Donnell and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stillman looks for the body kick but Cooper saw that one coming. Cooper shoots in looking for a takedown. Stillman tries to sprawl out of it but Cooper keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Stillman manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Stillman moves into the clinch successfully.
Cooper wants a takedown.
Cooper jumps guard but Stillman turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Cooper. That's going to take a lot out of him. Cooper avoiding damage as Stillman throws knees to the body.
Cooper swings away with an uppercut that misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Stillman putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Cooper in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body. Stillman gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Cooper.
Cooper changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Stillman fights it off and pushes away nicely.
That's one minute gone in the round. Stillman thows a leg kick but Cooper checks it and Cooper counters with a takedown into side control. Stillman is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Cooper has just dragged him back down to the mat. Cooper tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Cooper has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Stillman is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Cooper has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Stillman is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Cooper yanks on the arm and Stillman is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Cooper.
