Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dalmour Daxton (ranked 4853 p4p, 4098 weight class) and Paul Herrera (ranked 540 p4p, 479 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dalmour Daxton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Paul Herrera!
The judges for this bout are Ron Honeybunn, Chris Dean and Damien Edna.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Daxton bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Herrera's head.

Herrera drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Herrera working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
Daxton has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
Daxton tries to buck Herrera off but Herrera is having none of it.

Herrera throws a strike aimed at the side of Daxton's head but Daxton avoids it well.

Herrera is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Daxton's shoulder. That is not cool.
Daxton wants to control but Herrera postures up.
Daxton tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Herrera has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Herrera shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Daxton's guard.

Daxton looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Daxton has his foot on Herrera's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Herrera works his way back into a safe position though.
Herrera must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Herrera seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Daxton is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Herrera is aware though and is defending well.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Herrera wants to control from the top but Daxton keeps moving.

Daxton working for submissions but it's allowed Herrera to get to half guard.
Daxton is trying to control but can't.
Herrera really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Daxton. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Herrera is taking a breather. Daxton says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Herrera is trying to control the action in half guard but Daxton is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Daxton connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Herrera's hands.

Herrera tries a low kick but Daxton avoids it.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Daxton tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Herrera smiles and moves away.

and Daxton decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Herrera's guard.
Herrera wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Daxton manages to pass to side control.

Daxton is trying to work for a kimura but Herrera is defending well.

Herrera wants to control but Daxton is keeping busy.

Herrera has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Daxton is on him like a limpet, forcing Herrera back against the cage.

Herrera has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Daxton regains guard immediately.
Daxton is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Herrera manages to get to full guard.

Herrera is looking to stand up but Daxton isn't so interested in that idea.
Daxton is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Herrera is on top in guard.

Daxton has his feet on Herrera's thighs here. He's pushed Herrera off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Herrera screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
