Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Yuki Shojumaru (ranked 2934 p4p, 25606 weight class) and Lucas Martinez (ranked 167 p4p, 326 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 3 - 1 - 1, fighting out of The Island, Yuki Shojumaru! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 3 - 1, fighting out of The Island, Lucas Martinez! The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, David Hoff and Peter Branson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Martinez scores with the left hand. Shojumaru knows he should have avoided that one. Shojumaru with a jab. Martinez uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Shojumaru.
As Shojumaru backs off Martinez throws a huge counter combo but Shojumaru manages to avoid it all. Martinez moves out of range of the strikes. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Martinez! But no joy. Shojumaru keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Martinez goes for a double leg but Shojumaru avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Shojumaru continues to drive forward. Shojumaru misses with a left hand and Martinez counters with a nice body shot. Decent striking displayed by Shojumaru there. Shojumaru uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Martinez. Shojumaru lands a nice shot to the body.
Shojumaru looks to throw the jab but Martinez is out of range. Shojumaru scores with a jab to the head.
Martinez is rocked! Martinez doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Martinez blocks a jab. A looping hook to the body misses from Shojumaru. Martinez does a little dance to reset his feet. Shojumaru jabbing away but nothing is landing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shojumaru throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Martinez stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Shojumaru throws a hook to the side of Martinez's head but Martinez sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Martinez goes for a double leg but Shojumaru avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Shojumaru continues to drive forward. Yuki Shojumaru has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lucas Martinez. Martinez takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Shojumaru keeps the fight on the outside. Martinez is trying hard to land a takedown here. Shojumaru sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Shojumaru swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Martinez shoots in for a takedown but Shojumaru shows good takedown defense. Shojumaru was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit. Shojumaru scores with a jab. Martinez acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Martinez is still on wobbly legs! Can Shojumaru finish him? Martinez steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Shojumaru. Martinez changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Martinez seems to have recovered his senses. Shojumaru connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Shojumaru cracks Martinez with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! Martinez falls to his knees and Shojumaru doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:52 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Yuki Shojumaru!
