The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Compare misses with a looping left.
Compare listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.

It looks like Danilo Mendes has been cut.
Mendes slips under a jab from Compare.
A little feinted left hand from Mendes on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Compare scores with a punch to the head.
Mendes ducks under a wild hook from Compare.
Carlos Compare seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Compare cracks Mendes with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Mendes looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Compare finish him?

Mendes is rocked!

Oh Mendes is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
The fighters circling - Compare throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Mendes seems to have got his legs back now.
Compare leaves Mendes with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Mendes definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Compare throws a lazy right hand but Mendes sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Mendes feinted with a counter takedown.
Compare ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Mendes moves away.

Compare connects with a body shot that sends Mendes's belly button to the back.

Compare sends Mendes crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Compare is motioning to the referee to let Mendes up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

Danilo Mendes's cut is getting worse.
Compare is stalking Mendes. Mendes circles to his left. Keeps circling left. Bam! Straight right from Compare, and it's lights out! Mendes really payed the price for that rookie mistake.
