Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Steven Wong (ranked 4778 p4p, 6081 weight class) and Island Paradise (ranked 548 p4p, 621 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Steven Wong has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Steven Wong seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Steven Wong! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Island Paradise! The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Daniel Franklin and Dirk Anderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wong moves out of range of the body kick from Paradise.
Paradise looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Wong shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Paradise is trying to stand back up but Wong is controlling him
Wong wants to free his trapped foot but Paradise is holding on for dear life with his legs. Wong lands strikes from half guard. Wong sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Paradise defending well though. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Wong throwing shots but Paradise is blocking nicely. Paradise is trying to maintain the position but Wong is very close to passing his half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Wong connects with a nice short shot to Paradise's temple. Wong is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

That's one minute gone in the round. Paradise avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Wong. Paradise blocking the ground and pound attempt from Wong. Wong landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Wong missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Wong seems to be looking for submissions.

Wong is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Paradise sees it coming and defends easily. Paradise blocking the ground and pound attempt from Wong.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Wong seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Wong wants to stand but his hand is trapped. Paradise uses the opportunity to regain full guard. Wong throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Paradise works some decent striking defense from the bottom. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Wong with a flurry of punches that miss. Paradise is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Wong postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Wong has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Paradise working a defensive guard here.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Steven Wong seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Paradise gets tackled into the cage by Wong. Wong maintains the clinch. Wong turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Wong manages to end up in side control. Wong decides to stand back up. Wong steps back and let's Paradise get back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wong clinches. Wong unloads a knee to the mid-section. Wong manages to break the clinch.
Paradise tries to keep at a distance but Wong has taken the fight into the clinch. Wong manages to break the clinch.
Wong fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Paradise, pushing him back against the cage. Wong is trying to trip Paradise. He has hold of a leg but Paradise is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Wong persists though and gets the takedown into guard. Wong with a flurry of punches that miss. Wong wanted to stand there but Paradise had control of the position. Wong throws a sloppy strike and Paradise has hooked up an armbar on the loose arm! He's turned and extended fully! Wong is forced to tap! Great BJJ from Paradise!
