This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the light heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Los Angeles, with a TWGC record of 25 wins and 17 losses; Kurt Diesel! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Los Angeles, with a TWGC record of 34 wins and 22 losses; Judas Priest!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Paulo Santos and Alexandre Firmino.


The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way.

Priest darts in and clinches Diesel up against the cage.
Priest has Diesel pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Diesel manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

It looks like Priest might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Diesel trying to hold on to Priest's head to control him but Priest postures up.
Diesel is concentrating on defense, preventing Priest from advancing position.
Priest is trying to control the action in half guard but Diesel is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Priest in particular looking to stall.
Priest is pressing down on Diesel's thigh, looking to free his foot. Diesel is holding on for now.

Priest is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Diesel has managed to free his arm - good work.

Priest is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Diesel to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Diesel shrugs it off.
Priest takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Diesel tries to lock up and control but Priest gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Diesel is desperately trying to improve his position but Priest has a good base and remains in mount.
Priest trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Priest fails to advance to Diesel's back.
Diesel tries to hold on but Priest pushes him away.

Priest sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Diesel sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Diesel is positioning himself well to prevent Priest advancing to mount.
Diesel is looking for a sweep. Priest is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Priest tries to pass to full mount but Diesel defends it.

Priest wants to control but Diesel is keeping him busy.
Priest prevents Diesel from improving his position.
Diesel is trying to maintain the position but Priest is very close to passing his half guard.

Diesel is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Priest pulls his head out easily.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Priest manages to capitalize on a mistake by Diesel to take his back!

Diesel can't escape the position.
A bit of a pause in the action here. Priest controlling the positon.
Priest is trying to control but Diesel is trying to escape here - he's now mounted.

Diesel bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Priest pulls Diesel in close to his closed guard and prevents Diesel from doing any damage or advancing position.
Priest not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Priest keeping moving, preventing Diesel from controlling successfully.

Priest manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Diesel manages to get himself to full guard.

Diesel is refusing to be controlled, as Priest sits in half guard.
Priest perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Diesel is not content to let Priest control the position.

Priest seems to be working for a kimura but Diesel defends the submission attempt.

Diesel wants to control but Priest is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Priest is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Diesel sees it coming and defends easily.
Priest seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Diesel does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Diesel tries to roll over but Priest keeps him under control.

Priest wins on points by 17 to 2.
Judas Priest is the new light heavyweight champion!
