River has chosen Waylon Jennings - I've Always Been Crazy as his entrance music. Charlie River has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Charlie River!
The judges for this bout are Chris Dean, Winston Howard and Ben Hemmingworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Peieira dives in and scores a takedown into River's guard.
Peieira wants to pass the guard but River is keeping the position.
Peieira looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Peieira stands and throws River's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Peieira is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, River has escaped the position, nice work there.
Peieira tries to move to mount but River blocks the move with his legs.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Peieira thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Peieira is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. River knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Peieira wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by River, who protects the arm well.
Peieira passes to full mount! That's big trouble for River!
Peieira goes for an armbar but River turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from River.
Peieira wants to sweep but no luck.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Peieira looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but River is defending well. Peieira quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! River has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Peieira celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
