The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Peieira dives in and scores a takedown into River's guard.
Peieira wants to pass the guard but River is keeping the position.
Peieira looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Peieira stands and throws River's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Peieira is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, River has escaped the position, nice work there.
Peieira tries to move to mount but River blocks the move with his legs.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Peieira thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Peieira wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by River, who protects the arm well.

Peieira looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but River is defending well.
