This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the lightweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of New York, with a TWGC record of 14 wins and 16 losses; Enzo Salvatore! And in the blue corner, fighting out of New York, with a TWGC record of 8 wins and 24 losses; Arm Breaker!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Gwen Towbar and Chris Downing.


The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way.

Breaker closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Breaker lands in his opponent's guard.

Breaker trying to control the position from guard on top but Salvatore is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Salvatore working for a triangle but Breaker defends it easily.
Salvatore keeping moving, preventing Breaker from controlling successfully.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Breaker trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
We've been hearing good reports from Salvatore's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Breaker tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!

Salvatore has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Breaker has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Salvatore looking to finish the fight with a rear naked choke. Breaker is controlling Salvatore 's left arm and he spins nicely into guard.

Breaker wants to pass the guard but Salvatore is keeping the position.
Salvatore pulls Breaker in to control the position.

Salvatore will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Breaker stands and throws Salvatore's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Salvatore is trying to get back to half guard.
Salvatore gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!

Breaker tries to control but Salvatore wriggling away.
Salvatore tries to hold on but Breaker postures up.
Salvatore is looking to improve his position but Breaker isn't that keen on the idea.

Breaker is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Salvatore has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Salvatore!

Salvatore engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

Breaker is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Salvatore defends well.

Breaker had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Salvatore defends it easily.

Breaker looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

That's eight minutes gone in the round.
Salvatore is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Breaker pulls Salvatore in close to prevent any damage.

Salvatore drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Salvatore seems to have locked his on tight now - Breaker screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Salvatore, as he picks up the win!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 9:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kneebar). Enzo Salvatore!
A very excited looking Enzo Salvatore made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
