Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between CJ Tripp (ranked 1363 p4p, 4409 weight class) and Arjan Bhullar (ranked 188 p4p, 501 weight class). Bhullar is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Daniel Cormier - All About That Cake. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 28 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, CJ Tripp!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 38 - 28 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Arjan Bhullar!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Wagner Zegers and Paulsen Ambrosius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tripp feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Bhullars jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Tripp defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Bhullar.
Tripp feinted there with a counter leg kick.
Bhullar will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Bhullar throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
A counter left hand to the body from Tripp misses its target.
A nice combination there by Bhullar.
Tripp feints and then cracks Bhullar's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Bhullar down.
Bhullar tries to close the distance and clinch up but Tripp swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Tripp connects with a solid leg kick.
Tripp with a nice cross.
Bhullar avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Tripp connects with a crisp jab.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Bhullar rushes Tripp and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Tripp misses with a hook to the ribs.
Bhullar stalling.

Bhullar is trying to pull guard but Tripp turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
CJ Tripp has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Arjan Bhullar.
Bhullar drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Tripp gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Tripp pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Bhullar wants to counter the offense by Tripp and move into the clinch position.

Tripp lands a leg kick that knocks Bhullar off balance momentarily.

Bhullar closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Bhullar wants to lay and pray for a moment but Tripp keeps working.

Tripp is looking to reverse the position.

Bhullar stands up.
Bhullar shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Tripp pinned against the cage. Tripp gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Tripp looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Bhullar closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Bhullar lands in his opponent's guard.

Tripp blocks a head kick by Bhullar.

Tripp throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Tripp throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Bhullar counters with a good low kick that Tripp was not able to check.
Arjan Bhullar seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bhullar gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Tripp counters with a right hand to the body.
Tripp lands with a nice body punch.
Horrible takedown attempt by Bhullar or perhaps it was just good defense by Tripp, which made it look bad.

Bhullar works over Tripp's head and body with a nice combination.

It looks like CJ Tripp has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Bhullar uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Tripp.

Tripp throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Tripp throws a body punch but Bhullar moves out of range.
Tripp wants to slow Bhullar down by chopping away at his legs.
Donk. Tripp catches Bhullar right on the button with a cross.
Tripp lands a glancing blow to the side of Bhullar's head.
Bhullar lands with a kick to the ribs.
Bhullar shoots in looking for a takedown but Tripp manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Bhullar's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Bhullar throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Tripp was covering up waiting for the punch and Bhullar finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Tripp can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Bhullar controls the pace.

Bhullar gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Tripp is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Bhullar stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Tripp.
CJ Tripp is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Bhullar looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Bhullar controlling the action here.
Bhullar thows a huge punch but Tripp dodges it nicely.
Bhullar wants to control but Tripp is keeping him busy.

Bhullar is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Bhullar seems to be working for a kimura but Tripp defends the submission attempt.
Bhullar is taking a breather. Tripp says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Bhullar is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Tripp has managed to free his arm - good work.
Well, if Bhullar is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.

Bhullar scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Tripp wants to improve his position but Bhullar is controlling well.
Bhullar is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bhullar wants to pass to mount but Tripp is defending the position.

Bhullar decides to stand and escape the position.

and Tripp counters with a left and a right that stings Bhullar.
Tripp connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

Bhullar forces Tripp back against the cage and clinches.
Tripp scores with a nice hook to the head.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Tripp lands a body shot.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Tripp.

Bhullar tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Tripp smiles and moves away.

Bhullar shoots for a takedown but Tripp saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Tripp swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Bhullar changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Bhullar shoots in but no luck this time.
Bhullar tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Tripp went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Tripp is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Bhullar can do to turn this around?

Bhullar doesn't succeed with the takedown
enabling Tripp to counter with a crisp jab.

and Tripp counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Tripp lands with a nice body kick.
Bhullar changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Tripp tries to avoid it but Bhullar manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Tripp to the ground. Tripp escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
As Bhullar backs away, Tripp returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.
Bhullar shoots for a double leg takedown but Tripp sprawls well. He's pushed Bhullar's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Tripp looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger.
Bhullar takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Bhullar moves out of range of the body kick from Tripp.
Bhullar only half commits to the counter leg kick.
Bhullar walks into a straight right hand from Tripp.

It looks like Arjan Bhullar has been cut.
Tripp drops Bhullar with a big left hand! Bhullar is injured, injured bad! Tripp jumps in and finished him with strikes! The fight is over!
