Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Oliver Manchest (ranked 25402 p4p, 6170 weight class) and Eberhard Kovac (ranked 723 p4p, 0 weight class). Manchest has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Eberhard Kovac has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 13 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Oliver Manchest! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Eberhard Kovac! The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Sandra Marshall and Bart Greer.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kovac fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Manchest has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Kovac shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Manchest is trying to defend but Kovac finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Manchest pushes Kovac off but Kovac dives into side control.
Kovac slows the pace down. Kovac stands up and we're back to a striking position. Kovac scores with a hook to the body. Manchest takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Manchest is breathing heavily. Kovac drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Manchest tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Kovac jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Manchest manages to avoid the submission attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Manchest being controlled for a moment. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Sloppy strikes there by Kovac.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. An elbow from Kovac crashes against the mat.
Kovac has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Kovac changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Manchest looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. A lull in the action here. Kovac is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Manchest is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Kovac stands up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Manchest gets hit by the mother of all head kicks and drops to the canvas in a crumpled heap! Woooow, the Internet is going to be talking about this one for weeks!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:08 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Eberhard Kovac!
