Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Stewart Grey (ranked 4725 p4p, 4556 weight class) and Buddy Lake (ranked 266 p4p, 261 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Stewart Grey! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Buddy Lake! The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Winston Alpacca and Sandra Marshall.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Grey throws a sloppy head kick and Lake moves out of range easily. Lake swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Grey misses with a jab, cross combination.
Lake connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Grey takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Lake looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Lake scores with a one two! Grey had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Lake scores with a head kick. Grey tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time. Lake throws a left and a right that both miss
and Grey counters by moving into the clinch. Grey just leaning against Lake, taking a breather. Grey decides to pull guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Lake wanted to stand there but Grey had control of the position. Grey pulls Lake in close to his closed guard and prevents Lake from doing any damage or advancing position. Lake wants to stand and escape but instead Grey has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lake being controlled here, momentarily. Grey seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Lake for as long as he can get away with. Lake is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Grey decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Lake, up you get!

Nice jab by Lake. Grey really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Grey waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Lake. Grey takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Grey with a poor takedown letting Lake counter with a right hand. Grey throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Lake's waist but Lake gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Grey off to one side. Buddy Lake is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Lake lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Lake moves into range and connects with a jab. Lake's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Lake duly obliges. Lake misses with a wild combination.
Grey throws a big counter combination but Lake scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. Grey on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lake pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Lake fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Grey on the side of the head. Grey throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Grey moves into the clinch successfully.
Lake has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Grey prevents Lake from breaking the clinch. Grey wants a takedown but no success here.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Stewart Grey. That's going to take a lot out of him. Lake looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Grey breaks the clinch.
Left hook, right uppercut from Lake. Lake tries to keep at a distance but Grey has taken the fight into the clinch. Lake has had enough of the clinch but Grey keeps him there for the moment.

Lake looks to land a combination but Grey avoids it well. Grey gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Lake throws a right and a left that both miss. Lake looks winded! Grey has taken the fight to the clinch.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Lake avoiding damage as Grey throws knees to the body.
Grey pulls guard. Grey is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Grey is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Well, if Grey is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Buddy Lake dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action! Lake avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. A cross from Lake lands. Lake stuffs the takedown attempt from Grey. Grey gets slowly back to his feet. Lake fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Grey has Lake up against the cage in a clinch.
Lake wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Lake has been the more effective fighter overall so far. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lake wants to break free but Grey has control.
Grey drags the fight down to the ground.

Grey will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Grey looking to pass the guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Grey is working hard here to advance position. Grey connects with a couple of short punches. Grey won't allow Lake to get back to his feet. Grey stands up and waves to Lake to follow him.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Lake throws a one two combo.

Lake looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Lake lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Grey at a distance.
Grey clinches up against the cage. Grey changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Lake fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Stewart Grey is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Grey gets a takedown into half guard. Grey seems to be looking for submissions.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lake is trying to escape back to his feet but Grey uses the scramble to pass into side control.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Lake is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Grey has just dragged him back down to the mat. Grey remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Lake is trying to stand back up. That was a close second round but I would say that Stewart Grey will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round! Lake misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Grey seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance. Grey shoots in but Lake avoids the takedown attempt easily. The fight stays on the outside here - Grey looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Lake misses with a combination
and Grey moves into the clinch. Lake letting Grey take a breather here. Lake manages to break the clinch.

Grey creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Lake can do anything to dispel that myth. Lake bucks up and tries to throw Grey off but instead Grey has got his back! Grey slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
Lake is trying to stand back up. Grey lands an elbow to the side of the head.

Lake wants to get back to his feet. Grey patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here?
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lake is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Grey gets his way!
The referee is taking a good look at Lake as he is on the wrong end of some big shots from Grey!

Lake remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Grey will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke! Grey trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Lake doesn't escape.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Grey is punishing Lake with strikes - can he finish him?! Grey is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
Grey controlling from the back. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Grey is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Lake knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Lake for a finish.
