Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jesse Thomas Babcock (ranked 5008 p4p, 3699 weight class) and Stewie Brooks (ranked 0 p4p, 453 weight class). Babcock's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, SS00999. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jesse Thomas Babcock!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Stewie Brooks!
The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Sandra Marshall and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Brooks checks a leg kick.
Brooks tries to clinch there but Babcock circles away.
Babcock drops down looking for a counter takedown but Brooks sprawls and moves away.
Brooks needs to keep his hands up - Babcock had a free shot at his head there.

Babcock gets a takedown into half guard.

Brooks looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Babcock working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Babcock tries to pass to full mount but Brooks defends it.
Babcock lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

Babcock looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Brooks with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Babcock tries to pass the half guard into mount. Brooks knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Brooks is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Babcock's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Babcock's back!
You can see the frustration on Babcock's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Brooks looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Babcock defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Brooks's arms.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Babcock can't escape the position.
Babcock is working hard here to advance position.

Babcock just trying to survive but Brooks is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
Babcock is really stuck here.

Babcock is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
Brooks doesn't have the hooks in and Babcock manages to turn into his guard.
Brooks looks winded!

Brooks throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Babcock sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Brooks's guard.

Brooks looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Babcock drops an elbow to the side of Brooks's head.
Babcock is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Brooks is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Babcock is nestled in close to Brooks, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Babcock winds up and cracks Brooks with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Babcock trying to control the action but Brooks is working from the bottom.

Brooks is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Babcock pulls his head out easily.

Brooks with the active half guard here but Babcock passes nicely into side control.

Brooks tries to buck Babcock off but Babcock is having none of it.
Babcock tries to move into full mount but can't pass Brooks's legs.
Brooks is looking for a sweep.
Babcock landing strikes.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Brooks takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

Brooks tried to score with a low kick but Babcock checks it.

Brooks is rocked!
Jesse Thomas Babcock overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
The referee warns Brooks that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Brooks is still in real trouble! Can Babcock finish him?
Babcock is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Brooks can do to turn this around?
Babcock looking to finish Brooks with some ground and pound. This is bad for Brooks!
Babcock is landing with some decent strikes but Brooks is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Brooks is working to get back to half guard.
Babcock connects with a bit shot that sees Brooks covering up! More strikes from Babcock and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Babcock is our winner by TKO!
