Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Patryk Donald (ranked 4798 p4p, 3135 weight class) and Elier Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Peter Branson and Sandra Marshall.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diaz throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Donald's waist but Donald gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Diaz off to one side.

and Donald counters with a good, hard body kick but Diaz shrugs it off.

Diaz stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Donald.
Donald throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Diaz fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Donald avoids it really well and circles away.

Diaz 's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.

Patryk Donald seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Donald throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Diaz shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Diaz showed some decent athleticism there.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Diaz is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Donald sees it coming and defends easily.

Diaz has control of Donald's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Donald regains control of the situation pretty easily.

That was a close round but I would say that Patryk Donald will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Donald escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Diaz gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
