Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Boyka Kersikov (ranked 23731 p4p, 21782 weight class) and Igor Smizhonich (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kersikov's entrance music is Nosferatu - When Angels Cry. A fine choice. Igor Smizhonich will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Boyka Kersikov! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Igor Smizhonich! The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Steve Montenegro and David Schapiro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kersikov misses with a hook. Kersikov throws a leg kick that is checked and Smizhonich connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Smizhonich motions for Kersikov to come forward. Smizhonich throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. Kersikov staying out of range there. Kersikov is looking for a counter combo. Kersikov throws a lazy uppercut
and Smizhonich counters with a nice double leg into side control. Kersikov won't be happy with that. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Smizhonich tries to advance to mount but Kersikov denies him. You can see the frustration on Kersikov's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Smizhonich trying to control the action but Kersikov is working from the bottom. Smizhonich goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Kersikov has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Smizhonich but great work by Kersikov.
That's one minute gone in the round. Smizhonich is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Smizhonich pushes Kersikov off looking to stand but Kersikov dives back in and keeps control.
Smizhonich moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Kersikov trying to control but Smizhonich is working from the bottom. Kersikov won't allow Smizhonich to sweep him here. Smizhonich is looking for a triangle but Kersikov pushes his legs off easily.
Kersikov wants to pass the guard but Smizhonich is keeping the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kersikov wants to control from the top but Smizhonich keeps moving. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Smizhonich pushes a forearm under Kersikov's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Kersikov is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
