Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Boy looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.

Abbott keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

Abbott definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Abbott stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Abbott throws out a powerful jab.
Abbott jabbing away but nothing is landing.

Boy ducks under a wild hook from Abbott.
Abbott throws a poor cross that misses
and Boy counters with a nice body shot.
Abbott swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Boy counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Abbott thinking.

and Boy counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Boy moves away from the strike by Abbott.
Boy is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Abbott with a body shot.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Abbott throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Boy looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Boy tries to close the distance and clinch up but Abbott swats him away and circles back towards the center.

and Boy makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Abbott's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Abbott doesn't manage to clinch there - Boy circles away.

enabling Boy to counter with a crisp jab.
Boy steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Abbott.

and Boy counters with a nice uppercut.

and Boy counters with a nice right hand that sends Abbott toppling to the canvas! Abbott scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Boy finish him?!
Chris Abbott seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Boy uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Abbott.

and Boy counters with a big right hand! Oh Abbott is in trouble here! Boy follows up with more strikes and that's it! The ref has stopped it!
