Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Julian Soza (ranked 25002 p4p, 4677 weight class) and Rodney Lewis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Julian Soza has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Julian Soza! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Rodney Lewis! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Soza fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Lewis sprawls well initially but Soza persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Lewis wants to get back to full guard. Lewis makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Lewis. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Soza being controlled here momentarily. Soza loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Soza looking to pass the guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Soza with a flurry of punches that miss. Lewis keeping moving, preventing Soza from controlling successfully. Soza's corner is telling him to maintain position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Soza throws a strike but Lewis rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Lewis looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Lewis avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Lewis slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Soza can't do much from the bottom here. Soza is looking to regain half guard here but Lewis keeps moving and retains side control. You can see the frustration on Soza's face as Lewis controls the position. Soza can't do much from the bottom here. Lewis is staying tight to Soza's torso, preventing him from escaping. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lewis throws a left and a right that both miss
and Soza counters with a left to the body. Soza swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Soza dives in and scores a takedown into Lewis's guard. Soza throws a big elbow that misses.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Lewis working for a triangle but Soza defends it easily.
Soza trying to control but Lewis is working from the bottom. Lewis working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Soza doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Lewis is tightening it up a little... Soza has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Soza reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Soza taps out! Nice BJJ there by Lewis!
