Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Antonio Garcia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gum Guerreiro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Antonio Garcia looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Antonio Garcia! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Gum Guerreiro! The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Emerson Jorge and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Garcia has managed to clinch.
Garcia is pressed up against the cage. Guerreiro has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Garcia down to the mat. Garcia avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Garcia misses with a two punch combination.
Garcia shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Guerreiro's guard. Guerreiro trying to keep a closed guard but Garcia is proving a slippery customer.
Guerreiro being controlled here, momentarily. Garcia postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Garcia trying to control the position from guard on top but Guerreiro is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Garcia lands a couple of digs. Guerreiro is trying to control the position but Garcia postures up. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Guerreiro has his hands on Garcia's head, controlling the position. Garcia sitting in guard here, content to control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Guerreiro can't keep his opponent in guard - Garcia advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Garcia slows the pace down in half guard. Garcia is trying to control the action in half guard but Guerreiro is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Garcia is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Garcia is breathing heavily. Garcia working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Garcia missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Garcia not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Guerreiro is defending against the submission attempts here by Garcia.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Guerreiro closes the distance and clinches up with Garcia, looking for a takedown. Guerreiro pushes Garcia against the cage but Garcia circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Antonio Garcia seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Guerreiro just misses with a punch to the body.
Guerreiro throws a combination. Garcia tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Garcia stuffs the takedown attempt from Guerreiro. Guerreiro gets slowly back to his feet. Antonio Garcia has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gum Guerreiro. Guerreiro feints and as Garcia raises his hands in defense, Guerreiro changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Garcia lands a good elbow from the bottom. Guerreiro won't allow Garcia to sweep him here. Garcia is trying to control the position but Guerreiro postures up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Garcia is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Guerreiro is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Guerreiro postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Garcia has his hands on Guerreiro's head, controlling the position. Guerreiro trying to control the position from guard on top but Garcia is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Garcia thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Garcia drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Guerreiro is looking to regain half guard here but Garcia keeps moving and retains side control. Garcia lands an elbow.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Guerreiro taking a bit of punishment here - Garcia scoring with strikes. Garcia has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Garcia lands a nice forearm strike. Garcia prevents Guerreiro from escaping the position. Garcia working away. Garcia tries for a kimura but Guerreiro is defending well. Garcia content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. Guerreiro wants to control but Garcia postures up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Garcia dips to his left and cracks Guerreiro with an uppercut! Guerreiro throws a right hand that Garcia ducks under and follows up with a left that Garcia also avoids with ease. Garcia throws a left and a right that both miss
and Guerreiro counters with a two punch combo. Garcia closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Garcia lands in his opponent's guard. Garcia tries to free his leg and advance position but Guerreiro is retaining full guard. Garcia is in close to Guerreiro's body, working some short punches and elbows. Garcia looking to sit in guard and control but Guerreiro gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Garcia tries to land a sweep but no joy. Garcia looking to control.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Guerreiro throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Guerreiro trying to control the pace. Garcia is pressing down on Guerreiro's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Garcia has his foot on Guerreiro's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Guerreiro works his way back into a safe position though. Guerreiro is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Garcia throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Garcia has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Guerreiro has passed into side control.
Garcia misses with an elbow from the bottom. Garcia might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Guerreiro tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily. Guerreiro looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Guerreiro trying to control the action but Garcia is working from the bottom. Garcia is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Garcia trying to control but Guerreiro postures up.
Garcia is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Guerreiro throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Garcia closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Guerreiro taking a bit of punishment here - Garcia scoring with strikes. Garcia wants to lay and pray for a moment but Guerreiro keeps working. You can see the frustration on Guerreiro's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Garcia is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Guerreiro is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. The strikes coming from Garcia are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Guerreiro prevents Garcia from moving into mount. Guerreiro striking from the bottom but nothing landed.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Guerreiro tries to land a front kick but Garcia steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Guerreiro slips a straight right by Garcia. Guerreiro shoots in but no luck this time. Garcia throws a series of punches but Guerreiro moves out of range. Garcia misses with a two punch combination.
Guerreiro shoots and misses and Garcia counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Garcia misses with a double jab
and Guerreiro counters with a flying knee. Nice. A slapping body kick lands there for Guerreiro. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Antonio Garcia dominated that second round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

Guerreiro shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Garcia but Garcia pushes him off and we're back to square one. Guerreiro shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Garcia pinned against the cage. Garcia gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. No luck for Guerreiro with that takedown attempt. Antonio Garcia has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gum Guerreiro. Guerreiro takes one on the button. Garcia shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Garcia sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Garcia putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Garcia takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Garcia jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Guerreiro is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Guerreiro and Garcia has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Garcia working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. Garcia is putting a hurting on Guerreiro here, landing some big shots from side control. Guerreiro tries to improve position but can't. Garcia wants to lay and pray for a moment but Guerreiro keeps working. Garcia is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Guerreiro's shoulder. That is not cool. Antonio Garcia overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Garcia working the head with strikes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Garcia swings around for an armbar but Guerreiro sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Garcia's guard. Garcia looking for a sweep. Not yet Garcia, not yet. Guerreiro wants to stand but Garcia has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Garcia is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Garcia has an active guard here but Guerreiro has managed to pass into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Guerreiro is working for a submission of some sort.
Guerreiro thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Garcia striking from the bottom. Garcia keeping control of the position. Garcia lands with a few short shots to the body. Garcia keeping control of the position. Guerreiro scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Garcia manages to get to full guard.
Guerreiro trying to control but Garcia is working from the bottom. Garcia will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Antonio Garcia is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Garcia is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Garcia has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Guerreiro wanted to stand there but Garcia had control of the position. Gum Guerreiro has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Garcia is controlling Guerreiro's posture.
And that's the end of the fight! Antonio Garcia showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Garcia, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
