Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 1, fighting out of New York, Gunnar Bloodaxe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Benji Torres!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Paul Tew and Andrew Berry.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bloodaxe scores with a jab.
Torres takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Torres throws a jab but it's blocked by Bloodaxe.
Bloodaxe has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Bloodaxe misses the jab.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Torres! But no joy.
Bloodaxe misses with a combination
and Torres counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Bloodaxe motions for Torres to come forward. Bloodaxe throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Torres let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
Torres checks the leg kick nicely there.
Bloodaxe turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Bloodaxe throws a leg kick
and Torres counters with a series of strikes that practically lifts Bloodaxe off his feet! He tumbles backwards, his head bouncing off the mat - Torres follows up with more strikes before the ref can step in but Bloodaxe was out before he hit the floor.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Benji Torres!
