Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jack Gibson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jules Winnfield (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jack Gibson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Jules Winnfield!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Summer Carpenter and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Winnfield fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Gibson shoots and misses

and Winnfield counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Gibson's guard now.
Winnfield trying to control the position from guard on top but Gibson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Gibson working for a triangle but Winnfield defends it easily.
Gibson keeping moving, preventing Winnfield from controlling successfully.

Gibson looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Gibson utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Winnfield passes Gibson's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Winnfield looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Winnfield trying to control the action but Gibson is working from the bottom.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Gibson is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Winnfield pulls his head out easily.
Gibson tries to roll over but Winnfield keeps him under control.

Gibson looking for submissions off his back.
Winnfield blocks the strikes from Gibson.
Winnfield wants to take a breather but Gibson is having none of it.

Winnfield is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Gibson scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Winnfield tries to bench press Gibson off him but Gibson keeps the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Winnfield looks gassed!

Gibson is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Winnfield knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
You can see the frustration on Winnfield's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Gibson working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Winnfield is looking to reverse the position.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Gibson thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Gibson is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Winnfield is trying to escape and Gibson transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Winnfield is forced to tap! Nice work there by Gibson! Very nice indeed!
