The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barnes tries to land a body kick
and Mikhasevich counters with an outside leg kick.
Mikhasevich lands with a thumping leg kick.
Barnes throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Mikhasevich feinted there with a counter leg kick.
Mikhasevich explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Barnes lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Barnes fakes the leg kick and cracks Mikhasevich in the body.
Barnes slips a straight right by Mikhasevich.
Barnes misses the shot to the body.
Mikhasevich bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Barnes's head.
Mikhasevich throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
A solid leg kick lands there for Mikhasevich.
Mikhasevich's jab looks to have found its range, popping Barnes under the eye.

It looks like Jake Barnes has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Barnes closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Mikhasevich's guard.

Mikhasevich looking for subs off his back but Barnes has passed one foot through into half guard.
Barnes seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Mikhasevich does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Barnes throws a strike but Mikhasevich avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
Mikhasevich has control of Barnes's left arm, preventing Barnes from doing any damage.

Mikhasevich is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
