The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sloppy strikes from Pratoomwong. Those never looked like landing.
Pratoomwong looks for the body kick but Patterson saw that one coming.
Chakrit Pratoomwong seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Pratoomwong lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

It looks like Jerricho Patterson has been cut.
Pratoomwong throws a wild body kick that Patterson sees coming a mile off.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Pratoomwong crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Patterson - the referee stops the clock and Pratoomwong gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Patterson. Pratoomwong manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Patterson tries for a takedown but Pratoomwong sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

And Patterson responds with a good body kick, but Pratoomwong manages to step out the way in time.

Patterson steps into range and cracks Pratoomwong with a monster punch that buckles his knees! Pratoomwong flops backwards and Patterson dives into his guard looking to finish!

Patterson stays in close to Pratoomwong's body and controls the position.
Oh Pratoomwong is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
It looks like Patterson might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Patterson thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Patterson is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Patterson drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Patterson jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Pratoomwong knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Patterson on the ground.

Pratoomwong is looking to control Patterson's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Pratoomwong avoid being mounted?

Patterson postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Pratoomwong is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Patterson, into his guard.

Pratoomwong wants to control from the top but Patterson keeps moving.

Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Pratoomwong getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Pratoomwong thuds his right hand into Patterson's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

and Patterson makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Patterson has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

It seemed like Patterson was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Patterson cracks Pratoomwong with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Pratoomwong throws out a loose jab but Patterson uses good head movement to avoid it.
Pratoomwong looks to land a combination. Patterson sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Chakrit Pratoomwong is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Pratoomwong throws an overhand right from the outside, which connects and sends Patterson stumbling backwards into the cage! Patterson bounces back off the cage towards Pratoomwong, who cracks him with a two punch combination that drops him to his knees! Pratoomwong lands two more shots before the referee has chance to intervene - what a finish! Pratoomwong celebrates with his corner as the crowd cheer loudly.
