Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Wesson Smif (ranked 4673 p4p, 4713 weight class) and Jeffery Thibodeaux (ranked 546 p4p, 550 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Wesson Smif! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jeffery Thibodeaux! The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Paul Tew and Andrew Berry.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Both fighters are only really looking to counter, so after a good 30 seconds of circling each other endlessly, the referee has stepped in and told them both to be more aggressive. Smif clinches up with Thibodeaux and pushes him back against the ropes. Smif avoiding damage.
Smif effectively controlling the action here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Thibodeaux wants to stall.
That's one minute gone in the round. The referee calls for Smif to work.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Smif takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Smif. The crowd are getting pretty annoyed with Smif for his constant stalling in the clinch and are voicing their displeasure. The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Wesson Smif. Thibodeaux tries to clinch up. Thibodeaux tries to keep at a distance but Smif has taken the fight into the clinch. Both fighters working to control the clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Come on Smif - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Thibodeaux taking a breather. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Wesson Smif dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Thibodeaux moves in looking to clinch but Smif pushes him off. A counter left hand to the body from Smif misses its target. Smif has Thibodeaux up against the ropes in a clinch.

Smif seems to have come into the fight with the intention of avoiding any damage in the clinch, rather than actually showing any aggression. Smif will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Thibodeaux up against the ropes. Thibodeaux is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Smif is keeping busy.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Thibodeaux is looking to control Smif's arms but Smif gets an underhook and turns him. Now Thibodeaux has his back to the ropes. Thibodeaux taking a breather. Thibodeaux trying to control the position but instead, Smif has worked for underhooks and has pushed Thibodeaux into the ropes. Thibodeaux seems frustrated at his inability to get double underhooks.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Thibodeaux is trying to slow the pace down but that's a couple of times in a row that he's tried to get underhooks and Smif has denied him. The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Jeffery Thibodeaux. Smif circles away from the clinch attempt.
It looked like Smif was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Thibodeaux is looking to clinch. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Thibodeaux is persisting with his attempts to control the action in the clinch, rather than do any real damage. Jeffery Thibodeaux has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Wesson Smif is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Thibodeaux is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Jeffery Thibodeaux. Smif moves into the clinch. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! The pace really dropping off here, momentarily. Smif avoids a wild elbow strike from Thibodeaux.
And that's the end of the fight! Wesson Smif showed his dominance in that final round. Well Smif has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
