Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Hick Diaz (ranked 5213 p4p, 6646 weight class) and Theodore Holmstrom (ranked 543 p4p, 598 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diaz misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Diaz shoots in but no luck this time.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hick Diaz. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A jab from Holmstrom finds it's way through Diaz's defenses.
Holmstrom displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Diaz.
Holmstrom swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Diaz closes the distance and pushes Holmstrom back into the cage.

Diaz is trying to trip Holmstrom. He has hold of a leg but Holmstrom is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Diaz persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Holmstrom looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
