Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Arseth Oysten (ranked 2431 p4p, 3622 weight class) and Micah Frank (ranked 310 p4p, 445 weight class). Oysten comes to the cage accompanied by FREEZING MOON. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Arseth Oysten!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Micah Frank!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Robert Twigg and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oysten slips a jab and a cross from Frank.
Frank lands with an uppercut that bounces Oysten off the cage and back into range.
Frank throws a head kick that Oysten semi-blocks.
Frank throws a nice looking combination but Oysten bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Frank misses with a body shot.
Oysten feinted with a counter takedown.

Frank goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Micah Frank seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Frank tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Oysten jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Frank walks away with a smile on his face. Oysten gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Frank shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Oysten eats them both and turns towards Frank to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Frank lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Oysten backs up against the cage.
Frank takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Oysten uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Frank.
Oysten feinted with a counter takedown.
Frank throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Frank gets a clinch.
Frank scores with a shoulder strike.
Oysten fails to pull guard.
A short uppercut from Frank.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Oysten ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Oysten no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Oysten wants to sweep here but Frank controlling him for the moment.
Oysten is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Frank has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Frank can do anything to dispel that myth.

Frank is looking for a sweep. Oysten is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Micah Frank showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Frank is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.

Frank really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Oysten. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Frank not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Oysten working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Frank doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Frank manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
