Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Derya Sevket (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Danny Drake (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sevket comes to the cage accompanied by In the Club. Drake is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: ACDC black ice - spoilin for a fight. Danny Drake has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Derya Sevket!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Danny Drake!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Damien Edna and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick from Sevket lands but Drake takes it in his stride.
Sevket keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Drake.
Sevket is looking to slow Drake down with leg kicks.
Drake throws a big shot that misses.
Drake bobbing and weaving well here. And he's unloaded with a massive right hand that drops Sevket! He dives into his guard looking to finish!


It looks like Derya Sevket has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Sevket looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Drake loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Drake must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Drake has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Sevket is working away from the top position though.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Sevket lands a nice short elbow.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Drake will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Sevket moves away from the strike by Drake.
Drake throws out a loose jab but Sevket uses good head movement to avoid it.
Drake connects with a single shot there.
Drake throws a right hand that Sevket ducks under and follows up with a left that Sevket also avoids with ease.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Sevket feints and as Drake raises his hands in defense, Sevket changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Drake is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Sevket, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
