With a record of 14 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jake Damien!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Chris Edwards and Richard Clark.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diaz forces Damien back against the cage and clinches.
Diaz lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Damien has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Diaz after a bit of a struggle.
A nice left hand lands by Diaz.
The referee calls for Diaz to work.
I was talking to Diaz's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Diaz stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Diaz stops a takedown attempt from Damien.
Damien drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Noel Diaz has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jake Damien.

Damien is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Diaz is defending well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Damien is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Diaz pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Diaz lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Diaz throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Damiens head.
Damien is rocked!
Still in the clinch, Diaz scores with a nice short uppercut.
Damien is still on wobbly legs! Can Diaz finish him?
Diaz lands with a right to the head.

Diaz gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Damien.

Damien looks winded!
Damien tries for a takedown but Diaz manages to get underhooks.
Diaz scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Diaz creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Damien with a big uppercut! Damien tries to clinch up but Diaz pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Damien to the mat! Damien covers up and Diaz unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Noel Diaz!

A very excited looking Noel Diaz rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
