Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ed Green (ranked 236 p4p, 2070 weight class) and Shug Skinner (ranked 30 p4p, 251 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 20 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ed Green! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 11 - 10 - 1, fighting out of London, Shug Skinner! The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Donald Grub and James Atkins.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Green misses with a body shot.
Green darts in looking for a takedown but Skinner gets double underhooks and turns Green into the cage. Green jumps guard and drags Skinner to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Green being controlled here, momentarily. Green trying to control the position.
Green trying to control the position here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Green wants to sweep here but Skinner controlling him for the moment. Green wants to hit a sweep here but Skinner passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Green there!

Skinner is trying to stick to Green's back but Green is turning into Skinner. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Skinner's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Green.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Green wants to control from the top but Skinner keeps moving. Green tries to free his leg and advance position but Skinner is retaining full guard. Green trying to control but Skinner is working from the bottom. Green is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. My spies in London MMA Club inform me that Skinner has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends! Green is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Skinner got a little sloppy there for a moment and Green has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Skinner has managed to get both his arms back between Green's legs - danger averted. Skinner slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Green wants to sweep here but Skinner controlling him for the moment. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Skinner being controlled here momentarily.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Skinner tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Green was well out of range. Poor timing from Skinner. It looked like Green wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Green uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Skinner. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Shug Skinner will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Green slips a jab from Skinner. Green swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect. Green staying out of range there. Skinner looks to score with a jab to the body but Green is just out of range. Skinner thows a left - swing and a miss! Shug Skinner seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Skinner misses the jab. Skinner misses the jab. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Green moves out of range of the strikes. Green drops down looking for a counter takedown but Skinner sprawls and moves away. Green darts in looking for a takedown but Skinner gets double underhooks and turns Green into the cage. Green gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Skinner wants to clinch. Green looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
That's one minute gone in the round. Green fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Skinner manages to avoid it. Skinner slaps away a takedown attempt from Green, before circling back to the center of the mat. Skinner wants to counter with a clinch but Green pushes him away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ed Green. That's going to take a lot out of him. Skinner tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Green attempts a counter takedown but Skinner avoids it well and moves away. Skinner clinches with his opponent.

Green is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Skinner. Ed Green is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Green circles away from the clinch attempt and Green decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Skinner's guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Skinner keeping full guard, as Green tries to pass. Green wants to control from the top but Skinner keeps moving.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Skinner is refusing to be controlled, as Green sits in half guard. Green is pressing down on Skinner's thigh, looking to free his foot. Skinner is holding on for now. Skinner wants to control but Green is keeping busy.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Green walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Shug Skinner showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Skinner throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Nice uppercut lands for Skinner. That snapped Green's head back.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Green ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Skinner moves away. Skinner takes the fight into the clinch. Skinner escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Green slips a jab from Skinner. Green shoots in for a double leg but Skinner sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Skinner throws a sloppy body shot
and Green counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Green. Skinner is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace. Skinner gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head. Green decides to pull guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Green looking for a sweep. Not yet Green, not yet. Ed Green overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Green is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Shug Skinner is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Green isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Skinner stacks Green on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Skinner! Skinner passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Green! Skinner controlling the pace for now. Green wants to hold on but Skinner pushes him away. Skinner sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Green manages to regain half guard. Good work. Skinner prevents Green from improving his position. Skinner wants to pass the guard but Green is defending well. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Skinner prevents Green from improving his position.
And that's the end of the fight! Shug Skinner comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Skinner winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
