Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kikuchiyo Mifune (ranked 1806 p4p, 5211 weight class) and Wei Cheng (ranked 265 p4p, 581 weight class). Mifune kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Seven Samurai. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kikuchiyo Mifune!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Wei Cheng!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, James Atkins and Sam Margolis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cheng takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Cheng tries to clinch but Mifune moves away
and Mifune counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
It looks like Wei Cheng has been cut.

Mifune circles away from the clinch attempt
and Mifune counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Cheng thinking.
Cheng wants to clinch but Mifune slips to the side
and Mifune counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Cheng closes the distance looking to clinch
and Mifune counters with a straight right hand.
Mifune uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Cheng has time to react.
Wei Cheng seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Cheng has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Cheng ducks right into an uppercut from Mifune.

Mifune closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Cheng! Mifune dives in looking to finish! Cheng is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:05 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Kikuchiyo Mifune!
Kikuchiyo Mifune decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
