Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Mickey Cowan (ranked 1006 p4p, 1337 weight class) and Michael Bostic (ranked 61 p4p, 80 weight class). Bostic has chosen Move as his entrance music. Mickey Cowan has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mickey Cowan! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Michael Bostic! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Ian Loll and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cowan throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Bostic misses with an uppercut
and Cowan counters with a lovely straight right hand! Bostic lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Bostic throws a big shot that misses. Cowan throws out a loose jab but Bostic uses good head movement to avoid it. Bostic lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Cowan explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Cowan, as that shot connected.
Bostic keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Cowan keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bostic throws a shot to the body.
Cowan loads up on a big right hand but Bostic slips the punch. Cowan tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Bostic was well out of range. Poor timing from Cowan. Cowan lands a nice shot that snaps Bostic's head back.
Cowan misses with a jab to the body
and Bostic counters with a shoot takedown. Cowan fights it but they end up in guard. Cowan looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Bostic puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bostic is working for a submission of some sort.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cowan wants to control but Bostic is keeping busy.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Bostic wants to pass to mount but Cowan is defending the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bostic trying to control the pace. Cowan is looking for a sweep. Bostic is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Cowan won't allow Bostic to pass to mount. Bostic thows a huge punch but Cowan dodges it nicely.
Bostic is keen to just control but Cowan is a slippery customer. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Bostic is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Bostic throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Bostic wants to lay and pray for a moment but Cowan keeps working. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Bostic tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Cowan was well out of range. Poor timing from Bostic. Cowan feinted there with a counter leg kick. Cowan connects with an inside leg kick. Cowan connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Bostic's hands. Cowan throws a nice looking combination but Bostic bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Cowan tests Bostic's chin there with a solid looking shot. Bostic is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Mickey Cowan will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Bostic scores with the left hand. Cowan knows he should have avoided that one. Bostic misses the shot to the body. Cowan's jab looks to have found its range, popping Bostic under the eye. Bostic misses with an uppercut. Mickey Cowan is winning the standup battle so far. Donk. Bostic catches Cowan right on the button with a cross. Bostic misses with a left hand and Cowan counters with a slapping leg kick. Bostic bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bostic fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. A low kick lands for Cowan.
A looping hook to the body misses from Bostic. Cowan does a little dance to reset his feet. Cowan tried to counter with a leg kick but Bostic avoided it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cowan bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Bostic's head. We've been told by Cowan's head coaches at GWad's Playpen that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Cowan on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. A shot to the liver by Bostic. Beautiful body shot. Bostic takes a swing at Cowan's ribcage but misses. Bostic misses with a hook
and Cowan counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. A looping hook to the body misses from Bostic. Cowan does a little dance to reset his feet. Cowan misses the shot to the body. Cowan misses with a wild body shot. Bostic is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cowan drops Bostic with a straight right hand, right on the button! Cowan follows him down to the mat and pounds him out with hammerfists until the referee jumps in to end the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:12 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mickey Cowan! An out of breath Mickey Cowan thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
