The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Peese lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Nevans takes a swing at Peese's ribcage but misses.
Peese throws a leg kick but Nevans checks it.

Peese closes the distance and clinches.
Nevans is trying to break the clinch but Peese has him pressed against the cage.
Nevans wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Peese has him pressed against the cage.
Nevans tries to break free but Peese pushes him back against the cage.

Peese pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Nevans falls off balance throwing a combination

and Peese counters with a shoot takedown. Nevans fights it but they end up in guard.

Peese stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Some wild striking there from Peese.
Nevans is looking to counter with a shot to the body.
Peese feints a jab promting Nevans to slip. Peese then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Nevans slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Peese is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Nevans.

Peese closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Nevans quickly recovers to half guard.

Nevans is working on a guillotine. He's managed to get to full guard and he's really squeezing tight! Peese is tapping! Great win for Nevans!
