Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tyrann Madden!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, James Ackerman and Colin Fotheringham.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Madden lands with a nice body kick.
Madden scores with a hook to the body. Mesquita takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Madden throws a right hand that misses
and Mesquita counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Mesquita definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Madden is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Mesquita scores with a couple of nice shots.
Madden tries to kick Mesquita off but Mesquita keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Mesquita scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Mesquita lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

Madden wants to get back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Madden really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mesquita. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Mesquita winds up and cracks Madden with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Madden on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Mesquita has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Madden defend it? Mesquita steps over the head and cranks it - Madden is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Mesquita!
