Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Joseph Franz (ranked 4088 p4p, 3649 weight class) and Paul Kings (ranked 204 p4p, 187 weight class). Franz comes to the cage accompanied by Sandstorm. Paul Kings is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joseph Franz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Paul Kings! The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, William Peck and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kings scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Kings swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Franz is looking to counter the offense by Kings and move into the clinch. A big right from Kings misses. Kings lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Franz has closed the distance and engaged Kings in a clinch.
Franz goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Kings misses with a shot to the kidneys.
A left hand lands to the body for Franz.
Kings looking to slow down the pace here. Franz works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Franz slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Franz seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Kings for as long as he can get away with. Kings is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Franz slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Franz walks into a stiff left hand from Kings. Franz jabs Kings to the body, keeping him at a distance. Franz drives through with a takedown into Kings's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Franz sitting in guard here, content to control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Joseph Franz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Nice body punch from Kings. Kings defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Franz. Paul Kings is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Franz shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Franz with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Franz continues to stall.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kings avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Franz. Franz looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Franz will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Franz controlling the pace. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Joseph Franz dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action! Kings lands with a shot to the body. Kings tests Franz's chin there with a solid looking shot. Franz shoots in for a takedown but Kings shows good takedown defense. Franz closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Franz controls the position. Franz is working to tighten his grip on Kings's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Kings has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Franz is really squeezing tight and eventually Kings passes out! Franz breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
