Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Portgas D Ace (ranked 3121 p4p, 23630 weight class) and Bodie Helix (ranked 345 p4p, 585 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Portgas D Ace!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bodie Helix!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ace lands with an overhand left.
Ace misses with a hook.
Helix throws a looping overhand right but Ace ducks down to avoid it.
Ace tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Helix was well out of range. Poor timing from Ace.
Helix wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Ace lands a nice hook to Helix's body. Helix takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Helix loads up on a big right hand but Ace slips the punch.
Ace ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

Ace seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Helix for as long as he can get away with.

Ace has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Helix is in a bad spot here and he knows it... just holding on for now.

Ace wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Helix, who protects the arm well.

Ace is pressing down on Helix's thigh, looking to free his foot. Helix is holding on for now.

Ace tries to close the distance and clinch up but Helix swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Helix throws out a loose jab but Ace uses good head movement to avoid it.
Ace gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
It looks like Portgas D Ace has been cut.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Ace checks a leg kick.
Helix throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Ace throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Helix stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Ace lands a body shot.
Ace looks to score with a jab to the body but Helix is just out of range.
Ace changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Helix tries to avoid it but Ace manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Helix to the ground. Helix escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Ace swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Helix ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Ace moves away.
Ace has a takedown stuffed.
Ace scores with a sloppy right hand. Helix should have avoided that one.

Ace throws a body shot but no joy.
Ace has been working on his balance at Rage Training, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Helix.
Helix lands a slapping body shot.
Portgas D Ace is winning the standup battle so far.
Ace throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
It seemed like Helix was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Nice shot lands for Helix.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Helix slips under a jab from Ace.
Ace stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Ace throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Helix.

Ace postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Helix has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Helix is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Ace tries to free his leg and advance position but Helix is retaining full guard.
Ace postures up.
Ace drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Ace jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Ace shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Helix pinned against the cage. Helix gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Helix now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Portgas D Ace will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Portgas D Ace's cut.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Ace throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Helix's waist but Helix gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Ace off to one side.

Oh Ace is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

and Helix scores with a counter punch that sends Ace to the canvas! Helix smells blood - he's punishing Ace with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Ace has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!
