PBP Commentary |
Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Nick Diaz (ranked 5209 p4p, 4816 weight class) and Mats Bruger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Diaz kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Ceremony. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Nick Diaz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mats Bruger! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Percy O'Donnell and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bruger does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Bruger tries to sprawl but Diaz drives through with a takedown into half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bruger is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Diaz is trying for a kimura here. Bruger looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Diaz wins by kimura!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Nick Diaz! Nick Diaz decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
