Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between David Cannon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hector Arellanes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hector Arellanes will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, David Cannon! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hector Arellanes! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Robert Twigg and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cannon shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Cannon was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Arellanes is in all sorts of trouble here.
Arellanes tries to lock up and control but Cannon gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Arellanes is trying desperately to improve position. Cannon sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Arellanes is squirming around, avoiding Cannon's attempts to control the action. Cannon knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Arellanes on the ground. Arellanes keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Arellanes is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Cannon blocks Arellanes's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom. Arellanes is trying desperately to improve position.

Arellanes slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Cannon wants to pass the guard but Arellanes is defending well. Arellanes pushes Cannon off looking to stand but Cannon dives back in and keeps control.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Arellanes is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Cannon pulls his head out easily. Cannon wants to pass the guard but Arellanes is defending well. It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Arellanes walks into a left hand. Cannon closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Cannon wants to take a breather but Arellanes is having none of it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Cannon content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Cannon looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cannon wants to stand up but Arellanes has a hold of him and won't allow it. Cannon trying to control from half guard but Arellanes is working away. Arellanes actively working from the bottom here. Arellanes actively working from the bottom here. Cannon wants to stand but Arellanes has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Arellanes doesn't succeed with the takedown and Cannon moves into the clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Cannon manages to break the clinch.
Arellanes shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Cannon counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Arellanes! Cannon looking to finish Arellanes with some ground and pound. This is bad for Arellanes! The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Cannon cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Arellanes wants to control but Cannon is having none of it. Cannon trying to control but he's not successful this time. Cannon with good strikes from the mount here! Arellanes tries to hold on but Cannon postures up. Cannon landing strikes from the mount and Arellanes is in trouble! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
David Cannon dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Cannon shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Arellanes tries to lock up and control but Cannon gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Arellanes is just holding on here. Cannon manages to take his back.
Arellanes is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
Arellanes trying to control but not successfully. Cannon is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Cannon here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man. Arellanes tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Arellanes is looking to improve his position but Cannon isn't that keen on the idea. Cannon with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Arellanes quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Cannon has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Arellanes celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
