Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jimbo Boyd (ranked 5484 p4p, 5964 weight class) and Eric Carter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Jimbo Boyd has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jimbo Boyd! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Eric Carter! The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Saam Ante and Nard Betker.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Boyd jabbing away but nothing is landing. Carter defending well as Boyd loads up on a big left hand. Boyd swings for the body but Carter moves out of range.
Boyd misses with a hook
and Carter counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Carter is trying to work for a kimura but Boyd is defending well.
Carter wants to work for an arm triangle but Boyd is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Boyd won't allow Carter to pass to mount. Carter performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Carter is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Boyd sees it coming and defends easily.

Carter is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Boyd is just riding it out for now. Carter eventually gives up the hold. Carter wants to control but Boyd is keeping him busy. Boyd looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Carter with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Carter prevents Boyd from improving his position. Boyd is trying to stand up here but Carter is controlling him well. Carter wants to get back to his feet.
Boyd wants to control but Carter is keeping busy.
Carter works his way into full mount!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Boyd tries to hold on but Carter postures up. Carter lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Boyd is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Carter looking to isolate an arm here. Boyd doesn't see it coming and as Carter extends the arm, he's forced to tap out! Nice submission by Carter!
