Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mack Jesservey (ranked 3881 p4p, 4108 weight class) and Alexander Grigoriev (ranked 461 p4p, 478 weight class). Alexander Grigoriev is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Mack Jesservey!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Alexander Grigoriev!
The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Bart Greer and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jesservey shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Grigoriev as he avoids it easily.
A swing and a miss from Grigoriev.

Grigoriev shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Jesservey's guard.

Jesservey is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Grigoriev defends well.
Jesservey has momentary wrist control but Grigoriev slips an elbow through the middle.
Grigoriev distracts Jesservey with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Grigoriev connects with a couple of short punches.
Grigoriev has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Monkey Business. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Grigoriev postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Grigoriev makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Grigoriev drops back looking for a leg! Jesservey is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Jesservey manages to kick Grigoriev off! Grigoriev jumps back into Jesservey's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Grigoriev wants to control from the top but Jesservey keeps moving.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Grigoriev sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Jesservey's guard.

Grigoriev working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Jesservey is looking for a sweep. Grigoriev is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Jesservey on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Jesservey tries to get out of the position.

Grigoriev is working for a kimura but Jesservey is defending it quite comfortably.
Grigoriev is nestled in close to Jesservey, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Grigoriev seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Jesservey knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Grigoriev on the ground.

Grigoriev takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Grigoriev is taking a breather. Jesservey says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Grigoriev is nestled in close to Jesservey, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Oh Jesservey is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Grigoriev scores with a big shot! Jesservey's head bounced off the canvas with a huge thud! More strikes land and the referee has jumped in to save Jesservey! He was hurt real bad - good stoppage!

After winning the bout, Alexander Grigoriev thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
