Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Eric Carter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Yacoub Mami!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Bruno Lombardi and Jorge Garcia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carter clinches.
Carter wants to take the fight to the mat but Mami manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

A frustrated look appears on Mami's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Carter tries to pull guard but Mami holds him up against the cage and eventually Carter drops back down to his feet.

Carter tries to score with some ground and pound. Mami controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Carter looks up at the clock and then as Mami takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Carter smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Mami tries to clinch there but Carter circles away.
Carter closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Mami's guard.

Carter seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Carter looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Carter pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Carter lands a couple of good shots and Mami has given up his back, trying to escape the position!

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Eric Carter dominated that round.
That's time! Carter's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Mami uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Carter has time to react.

Carter changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Carter fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Mami sprawls well initially but Carter persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Carter seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Carter uses his free foot to push down on Mami's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Mami.

Carter throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Mami has his hands clasped together but Carter breaks the hold and Mami is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Carter!
