Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Franc Janz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Christian Keller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Christian Keller enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Franc Janz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Christian Keller!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Steve Montenegro and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Janz shoots in but Keller avoids the takedown attempt easily.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Janz.
Keller takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Keller slips a straight right by Janz.

Keller shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Keller is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Janz has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Keller goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Janz is on top in guard.

Keller looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Keller has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Janz is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Keller.
Janz trying to control the action but Keller is working from the bottom.
Keller is trying to get back to half guard.
Keller is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Keller looks to move to half guard but instead Janz has passed into mount! Damn!
Janz throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Janz prevents Keller from getting the reversal.
Keller wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Janz.
Keller is wriggling around trying to escape.
Keller avoids a series of strikes thrown by Janz.
Janz sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Keller is in all sorts of trouble here.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Janz unloads with some shots from mount but Keller bucks and avoids them well.
Keller is looking to improve his position but Janz isn't that keen on the idea.
Janz looking to ground and pound but Keller is blocking nicely.
Keller is desperately trying to improve his position but Janz has a good base and remains in mount.
Janz knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Keller on the ground.

Keller looks gassed!
It looks like Janz is going to stand back up.

Janz is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Keller sees it coming and defends easily.

Keller is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Janz pulls his head out easily.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Keller looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.

Keller looking for submissions from an awkward position here.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Janz darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Janz gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Keller counters with a nice double leg into guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Franc Janz. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Keller thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Christian Keller will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


A big left from Janz misses.
Keller slips under a jab.
Janz with a hook.
Janz jabs Keller right on the nose. Keller blinks but takes it well.
Janz throws a hook but Keller avoids it easily.
Christian Keller is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Janz connects with a crisp jab.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Nice uppercut lands for Janz. That snapped Keller's head back.


Keller is rocked!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Keller shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Janz as he avoids it easily.

Janz lands a jab to Keller's midsection.
Nice defenses there by Keller.
Keller looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Keller takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

Keller shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Janz's guard.

Keller drops back looking for a leg! Janz is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Janz manages to kick Keller off! Keller jumps back into Janz's guard.

Keller drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Janz dives on top into guard.

Janz landing some decent shots from guard.
Janz is looking to stand up but Keller won't let him.

Keller looking for a guillotine here but Janz defends easily.

Keller had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Janz is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Keller Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Janz's back instead.
Janz trying to get back to his feet but Keller is in full control for now.

Keller looking to break Janz's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Janz remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Keller will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
Janz is trying to stand back up.

Janz is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

Janz is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Keller gets his way!

Keller has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.

Janz rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.

Keller is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Janz is just riding it out for now. Keller eventually gives up the hold.
Keller prevents Janz from standing back up.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Keller looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Franc Janz dominated that second round.
That's time! Back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Janz fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Keller on the side of the head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Keller slips under a jab.
A jab from Janz finds it's way through Keller's defenses.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Keller avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Janz is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Keller.
Janz scores with a jab. Keller acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Keller looks for a takedown but Janz sprawls well.
Janz throws a good cross that connects.

and Janz connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Keller uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Janz.
Janz throws a shot from downtown. Keller moves away and avoids it.
Keller on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Janz has his takedown stuffed

and Keller counters with a single leg into guard. Janz didn't expect that.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Keller drops back looking for a leg! Janz is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Janz manages to kick Keller off! Keller jumps back into Janz's guard.

Keller drops back, looking for a kneebar! Janz looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Janz looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Janz!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Janz gets to mount! Keller was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Keller holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Janz tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Keller sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Janz not landing any meaningful shots this time.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Janz tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Keller.

Keller trying to get back to full guard but Janz takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount!
Keller is looking to get to half guard.

Franc Janz showed his dominance in that final round.
