Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Junqueiro Santo Amaro (ranked 1675 p4p, 1057 weight class) and Ivar Kvick (ranked 228 p4p, 154 weight class). The key to victory for Junqueiro Santo Amaro has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Junqueiro Santo Amaro!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ivar Kvick!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Chad Campbell and Bruno Lombardi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kvick throws a lazy uppercut
and Santo Amaro counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Santo Amaro looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Good shot there by Kvick.
Kvick takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Ivar Kvick seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kvick dives in for a single leg takedown but Santo Amaro sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Santo Amaro appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.

and Kvick counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Kvick uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Santo Amaro.
And Kvick tries to counter it with a takedown but Santo Amaro pushes his down on his head and steps out.

My spies in Sprawl & Brawl inform me that Kvick has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Santo Amaro is doing well to control the position and prevent Kvick from advancing to side control.

Kvick is looking to work some ground and pound but Santo Amaro has wrist control.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

A nice side step and Kvick releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Santo Amaro has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Kvick finds it's way round the side to connect with Santo Amaro's head.
Kvick shoots in looking for a takedown but Santo Amaro manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Kvick's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Kvick throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Kvick looks to score with a jab to the body but Santo Amaro is just out of range.
Santo Amaro stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Santo Amaro wants it to stay on the feet.
Junqueiro Santo Amaro has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ivar Kvick.

and Santo Amaro counters with a nice uppercut.

Santo Amaro pushes Kvick back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

Santo Amaro digs a right hand underneath Kvick's ribcage. Kvick let out a lung full of air as it connected.

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Junqueiro Santo Amaro will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Santo Amaro throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Kvick sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Kvick swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Santo Amaro.

and Kvick takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Kvick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kvick misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Santo Amaro counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Kvick gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Santo Amaro gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Kvick is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Junqueiro Santo Amaro!
During a confident post fight interview, Junqueiro Santo Amaro thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
