This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. And in the blue corner, fighting out of New York, with a TWGC record of 22 wins and 13 losses; Rich Silva Jr! The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Anthony Taglia and Alyssa Summers.
The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Camara bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Score +4 for clean takedown past guard: Camara (4) vs (0) Silva Jr A lull in the action here as Camara stalls from top position. Silva Jr wants to control but Camara postures up. Silva Jr has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it. Camara controlling the position. Camara tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Silva Jr being controlled for a moment.

Camara happy to just control the position for now. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's eleven minutes gone in the round. Camara tries to advance to mount but can't. Silva Jr wants to control but Camara postures up. Camara is staying tight to Silva Jr's torso, preventing him from escaping.
That's twelve minutes gone in the round. Silva Jr manages to get back to half guard. Silva Jr is staying active underneath Camara, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Silva Jr wants to control but Camara is keeping busy and won't allow it. Camara tries to pass the half guard into mount. Silva Jr knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Camara is aware though and is defending well.

He's managed to get a loose triangle. Camara doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Camara manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Camara pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Silva Jr is keeping the position for now. Silva Jr pulls Camara in to control the position.
That's fourteen minutes gone in the round. Camara has gone for a leg lock! Silva Jr slips out almost immediately though and dives into Camara's guard. Let's see if he can pull off a submission. Camara keeping full guard, as Silva Jr tries to pass. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Silva Jr stands and throws Camara's legs to the side, diving into side control. Score +3 for passing guard: Camara (9) vs (9) Silva Jr Camara is looking to reverse the position.
And that's the end of the fight! As we have tied on points, we go to a tie breaker and Silva Jr gets a bonus point for attempting more subs. Silva Jr wins on points by 10 to 9. Rich Silva Jr seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website. |
