Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Freddy Barnes (ranked 3209 p4p, 4419 weight class) and Kevin Lassiter (ranked 416 p4p, 524 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Freddy Barnes! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kevin Lassiter! The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Saam Ante and Paul Aken.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lassiter misses with a right hand and Barnes counters with a straight right hand. Barnes slips under a jab. Barnes misses with a looping left. Lassiter misses with a straight right. Lassiter connects with a right hand. Barnes shakes it off. The fighters circling - Lassiter throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Barnes takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Lassiter is looking to clinch. A looping hook to the body misses from Barnes. Lassiter does a little dance to reset his feet. Barnes jabs at Lassiter's body. Lassiter lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Lassiter ducks under a wild hook from Barnes. Lassiter throws a hook to the side of Barnes's head but Barnes sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Barnes scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. This has been an exciting period of action! Barnes misses the shot to the body. Lassiter doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Lassiter tries to clinch but Barnes moves out of range. Barnes appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick. Lassiter throws a hook but Barnes blocks it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lassiter displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Barnes throws out the jab. Lassiter tries to clinch but fails miserably and Barnes counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Barnes wants to lay and pray for a moment but Lassiter keeps working. Barnes controlling the action here. Barnes not landing any meaningful shots this time. Barnes thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Lassiter's head. Barnes throwing shots but Lassiter is blocking nicely. Barnes missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Barnes throwing shots but Lassiter is blocking nicely. Barnes is looking for a kimura but Lassiter is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Barnes to get the leverage. We've been hearing good reports from Barnes's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Barnes working the head and body with strikes. Barnes sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Lassiter defending well though. Barnes throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Barnes seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Lassiter does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Lassiter avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Barnes. Lassiter blocking the ground and pound attempt from Barnes. Barnes missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Barnes passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Lassiter!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Barnes has control of Lassiter's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Lassiter regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Lassiter is bucking up trying to escape but Barnes cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Barnes is working for a guillotine from mount but Lassiter frees his head quite easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Barnes thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Lassiter avoids a series of strikes thrown by Barnes.
Barnes tries to control but Lassiter wriggling away. Barnes has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Lassiter's face.
Lassiter is bucking up trying to escape but Barnes cracks him with another couple of good strikes. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Barnes throwing shots from mount but they're not landing. Lassiter really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Barnes. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Poor strikes thrown by Barnes there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Barnes throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Freddy Barnes dominated that round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Barnes moves away from the strike by Lassiter. Barnes's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Lassiter connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Barnes scrambles back to his feet. Lassiter fails in his attempt to clinch. Lassiter works over Barnes's head and body with a nice combination. Barnes looks to land a left hand but Lassiter moved out of range nicely. Barnes misses with a wild body shot. Barnes uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Lassiter.
Lassiter defending well as Barnes loads up on a big left hand. Lassiter on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Barnes. Barnes obviously looking to wear him down.
Lassiter clobbers Barnes with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Nice jab there from Lassiter. Barnes misses the shot to the body. Barnes misses with a straight right. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Barnes throws a body punch but Lassiter moves out of range. A countering left hand to the body from Lassiter misses. Lassiter throws a shot from downtown. Barnes moves away and avoids it. It looked like Barnes wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Barnes takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Lassiter shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Barnes shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Barnes ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Barnes throws a poor cross that misses
enabling Lassiter to counter with a crisp jab. Lassiter takes a swing at Barnes's ribcage but misses. Lassiter connects with a good right hand that stumbles Barnes. Barnes circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Barnes is rocked! Barnes throws a jab but it's blocked by Lassiter. Lassiter swings widly with a right hand
and Barnes counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Lassiter connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Oh Barnes is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Lassiter misses the shot to the body. Barnes gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Lassiter gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Barnes is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:42 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Kevin Lassiter! After the big win, Kevin Lassiter made sure to do all the important stuff like thanking his sponsors FUClothing and telling the interviewer how much he loves him.
